The BEST Interact Club in District 7690 still ‘doing good in the world.’

On April 4, 2019 The Interact Club at Southern Guilford High School donated food to the food pantry at the Newcomers Institute. On March 28, 2019 they presented a check to 7690 Polio Plus Chair Charles Allen in the amount of $1,066.00. (with the Gates Foundation Match the total contribution this year is $3,198!!!). That translates into 5,300 children who will not have to worry about ever having Polio!! Way to go Southern Guilford Interact.Southern Guilford Rotary Club also presented $250 in gift cards, snack items and new clothing items to the Veterans Administration Medical Clinic in Kernersville

 

Past District Governor Dave McCoy Visits Southern Guilford Rotary – 1/29/2019

 PDG Dave McCoy was here to present Dorothy “Dot” Borden with her Paul Harris Society certificate and pin. Dot also joined her daughter Ann Borden who is also a Paul Harris Society member. Rotarian Joe Kelly, from Summit Rotary Club, was also here to present Dot with her Paul Harris Fellow certificate and pin. Joe sponsored Dot as a Paul Harris Fellow.

 

District Governor’s Official Visit to Southern Guilford Rotary – Auugust 28, 2018

On August 28, 2018 DG Claudia made her official visit to Southern Guilford New Generation Rotary Club. At this meeting, we had a very “Inspirational” turnout. Each club member brought at least one guest to the meeting and DG Claudia gave a very “Inspirational” talk about The Rotary Foundation. PDG Dave McCoy was also there to present Ann Borden and Cynthia Williams with their Paul Harris Society certificates and pins. Sara McCarthy was honored as club ‘Rotarian of the Year’.  Afterwards, our club presented DG Claudia with a $100 donation to PolioPlus and President Herb presented DG Claudia with a bottle of Rotary “Be The Inspiration” wine.

The Southern Guilford High School Interact Club celebrates the end of the school year

15 Years of Doing Good in the World

On April 10, 2018, Southern Guilford New Generation Rotary Club celebrated it’s 15th anniversary. The event was held in the media room at the Kathleen Price Bryan YMCA. We had plenty of good food, including a birthday cake. We were also privileged to have The Interact Club at Southern Guilford High School was there to present a check for $648 to The Rotary Foundation Polio Plus Fund.  PDG Charles Allen, TRF District Polio Plus Chair, was also there to accept the check. This is money that the Interact Club raised by selling honey buns at the school for one week during lunch hour.When matched by the Bill &
Melinda Gates Foundation these fund raising efforts grow to $1,944.00. Congratulations Interacters and the Rotary Club of Southern Guilford New Generations!

The Interact Club at Southern Guilford High School celebrated Christmas with the residences at  Clapps Nursing Home. They entertained them with holiday carols.
